Mad Mod Recreates Baldur’s Gate in Neverwinter Nights 2

Speaking of EPIC releases, the fine folks over at Mad Mod have done what many fans thought the impossible: recreated the experience of Baldur's Gate in its entirety within the Neverwinter Nights 2 engine. According to fandom lore, ex-TimeGate-er Drew Rechner has been in pursuit of a 7 year quest to convert all of Baldur’s Gate (including expansion Tales of the Sword Coast) in Obsidian’s Neverwinter Nights 2 engine, and he’s finally succeeded.

“Baldur’s Gate: Reloaded is a fan-made tribute and remake of the original Baldur’s Gate using the Neverwinter Nights 2 engine. The project started in November of 2006 and has slowly progressed since then towards completion. Our team size has varied throughout the course of development from as many as 5 members to as little as 1 member.” Check out the trailer on YouTube.

Note: if you would like to play, you’ll need to have NWN2′s Mask of the Betrayer and Storm of Zehir expansions as well as the basic game version to play.

KoTOR 1 now available for $9.99 (USD) on iOS

For many in BioWare fandom, KotOR was the definitive game that turned just a casual player into a devoted follow of CRPG storytelling and BioWare's particular brand of narrative awesome. Now, just as amazing and just as beloved as ever, the original KotOR game can be bought and downloaded for your iOS experience, literally available at your fingertips to carry with you anywhere. Reports so far are that the gameplay feels great on a touchscreen interface (helped by the fact that the game requires iPad2 or better to download and play), and Android OS users should be optimistic that they will get a version soon, too.

Episode 1 doesn't exist.
